Hotel Vettonia is very central, one block from the Bull Ring and the House of Mithras. You can walk anywhere easily, a mile and a half will bring you full circle back to the hotel. Free parking on the street. Finding it was a bit of a trick from Google. It is only a block or so off the main street coming into town off to the right. The room was very nice and clean and new, a great buy. But do not try to drive around to the sights in Merida, I spent a miserable couple of hours trying to get close to the circus and aqueduct and would not do it again. The city is magical and deserves a side trip to see it. But if I had it to do again, I would take the train. You cannot book it directly on renfre, but you can book to Ciudad Real, then take a train to Merida from there. Then go on to Sevilla, that is the best route. Buses are also a good cheap option, but you will have to change buses, likely at Ciudad Real again.

The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Buffet breakfast was good value at 5 Eur.
Would have preferred separate pillows rather than one long bolster. Wifi didn't work most of the time.
